Games On Demand


Comcast Games on Demand uses a player to download and manage your games.

Download the game and the “Play” button (circled) will flash when ready. While downloading the game, you will receive tips on how to play.

When you click “Play” the player will start the game. The game plays in the full screen of your computer.


DirectX Issues (Error 25)

DirectX is a program by Microsoft® that many games use to display better graphics. The DirectX software is FREE. To upgrade your DirectX software please follow the steps below.

  1. Click here to go to the Microsoft® DirectX website.
  2. Click on the “DirectX 9.0 Runtime” link.
  3. Select your language and proceed to the download page.
  4. Click the “Download” link and select Open or Run on the download window.
  5. The download and installation of DirectX will begin.
Network Connection Issues (Errors 40, 43)

You may experience a network connection problem if your firewall is not configured correctly. To configure your firewall to play Comcast Games on Demand please follow the steps below.

  1. Go to your firewall configuration window
  2. Find the application authorization section and enable the ClientEngine.exe and Gplayer.exe programs
  3. Find the port authorizations section and enable ports 80 and 443
  4. Find the address/IP authorization section and enable the Comcast Games on Demand game server addresses:
Screen Flickering / Unexpected Game Exit

When a game crashes or the screen flickers the usual cause is an outdated video card driver. If you have the most current video card driver and have updated DirectX since updating your video card driver you may also experience this problem. To update your video card driver please follow these the steps below.

  1. Go to “Start”
  2. Go to “Run”
  3. Enter “dxdiag”
  4. Click “OK”
  5. Click the “Display” tab
  6. Make note of the “Name” in the “Device” section
  7. Make note of the “Main Driver” and “Version” in the “Drivers” section
  8. Navigate with your web browser to the manufacturers website
  9. Locate driver upgrade file
  10. Click to download the latest driver
  11. If prompted to Save or Open/Run file, select Open/Run

NOTE: You will NOT need to redownload next time you want to play.
