Why do I need to download and install the Comcast Player (EXEtender)? |
All games on the Comcast Games on Demand service run from the Comcast Games on Demand Player.
Without it, you cannot use the Service. The Comcast Games on Demand Player must be downloaded and installed onto each PC from which you want to use the service.

After I clicked "Play" on the site, the Comcast Games on Demand player appears and starts to download the game. Why is the game not immediately available to play? |
Pre-caching is the process by which parts of the game are loaded into your Comcast Games on Demand Player to make the game ready for you to use without waiting for the whole game to download. The caching process continues while you use the game.
The Comcast Games on Demand Player continuously stays one step ahead of the game and caches data files before they are required by the game. This ensures that you experience the highest quality gaming experience, along with the shortest possible launch time for the game.
When you launch a game for the first time, a progress bar appears on your Comcast Games on Demand Player that indicates the estimated caching time for the game.

Are games cached every time I use them? |
Cached data that is stored on your PC does not have to be cached again. Each game requires a certain amount of cached data in order for you to start using the game. Once the required data is cached, the game launches and you can begin using it.

Can I play the games without an internet connection? |
In order to use the Comcast Games on Demand subscription service you must be connected to the Internet in order to play the games. There are two reasons for this:
1. To play, you must launch them using the "Play" button on the Comcast games on Demand site.
2. The first time you play a game on Comcast Games on Demand you will download the initial cache or "chunk" of the game -- enough of the game to begin playing. While you play, additional components of the game are downloaded in the background.
From time to time Comcast Internet subscribers will have special deals to BUY a game from the service using the "Exent Store". In this store you can buy the games and you DO NOT need an internet connection in order to play them (in so called "Offline mode").
